The Watkin Path (8miles) was first opened in 1892 by Prime Minister William Gladstone in front of 2,000 people. It was the first official designated footpath in Great Britain,
The Incline used to take slate down from the South Snowdon Quarry (1840-80)
in Cwm Llan to Nant Gwynant.
