The Calcareous Worm Cast of "Spirorbis Spirorbis" , a tiny (3-4 mm ) ,spiral tubeworm ,
a filter feeder that lives attached to the fronds of seaweed, particularly on toothed wrack
(Fucus Serratus) and bladder wrack (Fucus Vesiculosus).
The body of Spirorbis Spirorbis is often no more than a few mm in length and orange -
red in colour. It is permanently encased in a characteristic smooth, white, evenly coiled tube. The tube coils clockwise.
