Near Reynoldston , about 3km from the Coast .
Arthur's Stone (Maen Ceti) - "Great Stone of Sketty" - is an impressive Dolmen
( a Neolithic Chambered Burial Tomb - 2500BC ) , at the northen end of Cefn Bryn
with fine views over the Loughor (Burry) Estuary.
The massive Capstone weighing over 25 tons (4m x 3m x 2.2m) is supported by a few small stones.
It is thought that the stone, the raising of which was one of,
"the three mighty achievements of the Isle of Britain", is a natural boulder that has been undermined
and underpinned to create the chambered structure.
The weather or more mystically King Arthur's Sword was responsible
for the large flat stone split off from the Capstone.
Legend has King Arthur travelling to the battle of Camlann in 537AD , when the stone was removed from his boot and thrown here.
