--------
This beautiful chambered tomb stands in splendid isolation in the middle of a field.
In the early 19th century it was known as Gwal y Filiast -
The Kennel of The Greyhound Bitch and was used as an animal shelter.
Three upright stones (1.8m) , support a great wedge shaped capstone -
4m (14ft) long, 3m (10ft) wide, and 0.7m (2.5ft) thick.
The stones (of mudstone) , are set at the East end of the Neolithic Long Cairn ,
or Barrow - 27m by 11m and 1.0m , with an E-W orientation .
The insides of the two portal stones have been smoothed and the triangular back stone
has a port-hole on its top.
Human remains and coarse pottery were found in 1875 .
