Memorial Tomb - Rudbaxton Church - 2
A large memorial to the Howard family of Fletherhill at the east end of Rudbaxton Church , erected soon after 1685.
The left and right hand panels -
On the right their son Thomas (with a red stain on his chest to represent his fatal duelling wound of 1682) and daughter Mary .
On the left James brother George who died in 1655 aged 32.
All wear dress from the Restoration period and hold Skulls.
The memorial has been painted in bright colours.
