Nant Mine / Porth Ysgo - 1
The Coast Path descends the Nant Y Gadwen Valley to Porth Ysgo , and passes -
The Lower incline Winding Gear and Weighbridge Office of a Manganese Mine (1894 to 1928 ).
A narrow gauge tramway for the Nant Mine was at this level.
Trucks were lowered down an incline to a Timber Jetty on the beach.
The Nant Iron Pyrites Mine raised 45,655 tons of Manganese ore.
Two other Manganese Mines , the Rhiw and Benallt (closed 1945) , are about a mile away.
