A view from the small hill south west of the Castle in the grounds of Coed Helen.
Inset photo is of a late C18 summer house and eye catcher , characteristic of its period ,
prominently sited on the hill top , 48m high.
Coed Helen means ‘Helens Wood’ and traditionally Elen (Helen) is said to have been a daughter
of the Romano-British ruler Octavius (Eudaf Hen) and the wife of Magnus Maximus ,
Emperor of the western half of the Roman Empire.
