
Visible from the Coast Path ,the engine house pumped water from the Penrhyn Du Lead mine.
The Cornish-type engine house contained a 27-inch Boulton and Watt pumping engine of 1779.
The mine was one of 8 mines working a lead-copper lode running westward to Llanengan.
Mining has taken place from C17 . The main period being C19 and closed by 1900.
