A slight diversion from the Coast Path to visit this 197ft /60m. high hill.
The name Twthill comes from the Old English meaning “lookout hill”.
This rocky mound was the site of a battle (1461) in the “Wars of the Roses".

Route - Through West Gate , Head east , along High St , through East Gate , along North Penallt Rd ,
Bridge over the A487 ,then left along Twthill West and right along Twthill East Rd , to Ben Twthill.
