7 - Prehistoric Monuments
Tan-y-Muriau Chambered Cairn - Rhiw- 1
A Neolithic , around 4000BC , long Cairn , originally some 120ft in length.
The impressive Chamber / Cist at the NW end has a huge capstone.
Below Mynydd Rhiw and Overlooking Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth) .

Location : Llyn Penninsula - Rhiw is to the East of Aberdaron and overlooks Hells Mouth (Porth Neigwl)
At the end of Porth Neigwl the Wales Coast Path climbs up to a steep road.
Take the FP / the driveway of Tan-y-Muriau /
The path skirts the house and heads uphill , at a sharp bend the monument
can be seen over the stone wall. Photos taken on a dull day.
