A Rock with 30+ holes linked by shallow groves above Allt-wen , north west of Porthmadog.
A Rock Cannon / Carreg Cannan is a rock which has been bored with holes which can be partly loaded
with gunpowder and ignited to make explosive sounds during traditional celebrations.
They are a common feature in the quarrying districts of North Wales .
Over 200 sites have been recorded.

Parking in a layby on the A487 to the west of Penmorfa ,
the road Hen Lon joins a FP (the old Gorseddau mine tramway) .
FP at no.1 Railway Terrace climbs uphill through woods to a track off the main path near a marker post.
Cannon a sort distance away , the area is marked by a windswept tree.
