Blaenau Ffestiniog - Slate Pillars
Four 25ft high pillars in parallel inspired by the distinctive triangular shape of the slate splitter’s chisel.

The 15,000 slates in each pillar are laid at 30 degrees, the angle of the slate beds in the quarry.
Bands of polished slate run through the pillars, engraved with poetry and quarry sayings.
The Pillars are in the towns Centre.
