Gwylwyr Granite Quarry - Winding House
Out of Nefyn the Coast Path follows lanes / paths through the countryside.
The structure in the photo (one of the winding houses) can be seen above the path
and reached by a scrambling over the Quarries spoil tip.
The quarry face above has units of jointed granite projecting from it.
Gwylwyr Granite Quarry operated from 1835 to 1939. , initially producing Setts.
Set into a NW facing hillside , comprising two main ledges, with spoil tips below.
