Aber Geirch was the site of a cable station serving an undersea telephone cable.
A 74 mile long cable was laid in 1913 between Abergeirch and Howth, near Dublin.
The first direct Anglo-Irish telephone cable.
The exposed pipe in the photo is from the waste treatment plant further inland
