After 500m the Coast Path heads back down to the shoreline.
This Viewpoint , in a layby ,is another 500m along the A5 - A popular spot .
Thomas Telford’s Menai Suspension Bridge (Pont Menai). Opened in 1826.
The World’s first iron suspension bridge, 1,265 feet/305m long, with a central span of 579 feet / 177m
The Roadway was set 98m/30m above the water to allow tall ships to sail beneath.
