Sand Martins - Afonwen

After walking along the A497 the path heads for the coast following the Afonwen river.
Passing under the Cambrian Railway Bridge.
To the East a railway station - the Afonwen junction station used to exist , now demolished ,
it was where the Carnarvonshire Railway (LNWR 1862 then LMS) line from Bangor connected to the
Cambrian Railway (GWR) - Railway closed in 1964.

Head to the Beach to see the Sand Martins burrows in this low crumbling cliff (Mid March-October).
