Britannia Bridge with below in the Menai Straits is Ynys Gorad Goch , which means Red Weir Island ,
The posts to the right of the house are the tops of one of the two fishing weirs on the Island.
The tidal range of the Menai Strait can exceed 10 metres (33 ft) during high with spring tides ,
which can make it appear that the two buildings are on two separate islands.
