Nelson Monument

An octagonal plinth and a statue of Lord Nelson in naval uniform looking out over the Menai Strait.
Nelson used to sail through the Menai Straits and used it as a training ground for his sailors.
In 1873 Admiral Lord Clarence Paget, 4th son of the 1st Marquess of Anglesey,
commissioned a statue of Lord Nelson to commemorate his death at Trafalgar in 1805.
The monument is subject to the state of the tide.
