A ferry from Caernarfon had been established by 1426 , known as the Passage of the Water of Seynt (Talyfoel).
Shifting sands meant the ferry could only reach the Pier at high tide.
The coast path passed the Low water Jetty ,some 1.3km away, at Y foel.
At Half tide TY Bach y Foel , further to the west ,was used
The Tal-y-Foel Ferry Port operated from 1850 to 1954 .
The Mermaid Inn behind the ferry port is no longer a Pub.
