The 9m stone tower with a tapering top was built by Colonel James Hughes of Lys Dulas
in 1824 , as a Landmark and also as a refuge for sailors shipwrecked on the island.
Foodstuffs where stored in the tower to sustain the sailors until they could be rescued.
From here the Coast Path moves inland , rejoining the Coast north east of City Dulus.
