Quarries ( closed in 1931 ) , have removed much of the eastern part of the Little Orme.
From about 1889 quarried limestone was mostly shipped to Scotland for use in blast furnaces.
Limestone was later used in the manufacture of Portland Cement because of its high
calcium carbonate content.The Shingle and Rough Stone beach leads to Rhos Point .
