The Bagillt Beacon , on Bagillt Cob , is in the shape of a Welsh dragon , one of a number
of beacons placed along the Flintshire coast to celebrate the Wales Coast Path.
First lit on the 4th June 2012 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Hill the beacon is on is a spoil tip of the Bettisfield Colliery . The path passes the decaying winding
house of the colliery , one the largest mines (1871-1933) along the Dee Estuary .
