Looking across Llyn Trawsfynydd reservoir to the Magnox nuclear power station.
The only nuclear power station in the UK to be built inland,
with cooling water taken from the artificial Llyn Trawsfynydd reservoir,
originally created in the 1920s as part of a hydro-electric project at Maentwrog.
The two Magnox reactors produced 470 megawatts , fully operational in October 1968.
Closed in 1991 , now in the long process of decommissioning.
