The ruins of the Diffwys Casson Slate Mill is located on a ridge which forms floor 6 of the Quarry.
The earliest phase of the mill dates from the late 1850s or early 1860s,
The mill produced Roofing Slates and was closed in 1924.
Diffwys Casson is the oldest , from 1760's , of the major quarries in the Blaenau Ffestiniog area.
As known as Diphwys Quarry or Diffwys Quarry - closed in 1955.
The site overlooks Maenofferen Quarry which currently produces crushed slate.
Route: From the location of the previous photo , take a steep FP opposite a line of Conifers ,
and climb below Slate tips .When a Tramway with a building is reached ,
head away from the Incline , the path traverses a slate tip to reach the ruins.
