A view over the coast from Mynydd Gwyddal (99m) .
Much of the landscape at the tip of the Llyn Peninsula was under arable cultivation during the
Middle Ages, and the traditional field boundaries -
Stone Walls and Cloddiau (earth banks) are a prominent feature.
Cloddiau are hedges (dykes /embankments ) with a dry stone outer and an earth / earth rubble core.
The hedges are colonised with a range of plants and the core can be a haven for small mammals.
