The road from Machynlleth used to cross the River Dovey / Afon Dyfi by this Stone Bridge from 1805 , now closed to vehicles.
The Pont-ar-Ddyfi bridge was often closed due to frequent flooding.
A new Bridge (Feb 2024) has been built, 1.2km (0.7 miles) long with a 725m (2,378ft) viaduct
which sits nine metres (20ft) above the River Dyfi floodplain.
