Tomen Las - Afon Pennal Valley

From Pennal forest the path drops down to the vllage of Pennal , then along the A493 ,
to the path through Plas Talgarth Park / Resort.
Tomen Las Castle Mound is seen close to the start of the path.
The remains of a motte that would originally have been crowned by a great timber framed tower
and faint remains of a ditch, dating to the medieval period (c. 1066 -1540 AD).
A princely hall and associated offices would have stood near the mound.
