2 - Aberdovey to Porthmadog
A photo of the beach at the Afon Dyffryn-gwyn outfall , showing traces of the ancient Peat Beds.
After winter storms have swept away the sands , Peat Beds with rectangular pits can be seen.
The beds were cut in the mid-18th to early-19th century , so that the peat could be dried and used as fuel.
