Cilgwyn Quarries
A view from Mynydd Cilgwyn over the Nantlle Valley with Old Quarries / Llyn Nantlle Uchaf / a capped landfill site, producing methane.

Some 50 small Quarries operated in the Valleys. Cilgwyn is where slate quarrying in North Wales may have started.
Slates from this area have been found at the Roman fort in Caernarfon.
