The rock cut steps and path may have been carved out of the mudstone in 1808 for horse and carriage
and starts in the Memorial Park at Penhelig and navigates the shoreline to Picnic Island.
The sea has eroded much of this old road but it is used as a coastal footpath
Avoid around high tide, as part of the walk can be cut off by the sea.
