The A55 trunk road passes through Pen-y-Clip headland, between Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr.
A view from the beach of the 13 arch Railway Viaduct and tunnel (1840's ) , below the 7 arch Viaduct of the 1936 road
(now eastbound only) with its two short tunnels. Out of View is the 930m long tunnel (1993) for westbound traffic ,
built as part of the dualling of the A55 from Chester to Bangor.

After the Coast Path comes out from under the A55 , the easiest route is to follow the promenade to the East
and on a LOW TIDE cross the pebbles to reach the sandy beach
walk along the beach , to the West , crossing at least one small stream to reach the Viaducts.
