William Madocks (1773-1828) was a Georgian entrepreneur , the man who built 'the Cob' across the Glaslyn Estuary (1811).
An agricultural improver in Gwynedd, especially around the towns of Porth Madoc (Porthmadog) and Tremadoc (Tremadog)
which he founded and are named after him
