Plas Brondanw Lodge
Plas Brondanw Lodge

The Lodge, from 1914, is picturesquely built in the style of a late-medieval gatehouse, on the A4085 at Llanfrothen,
the road used to run through the arch but was re-routed round the side.
Plas Brondanw was the family home of Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis, creator of the Italianate village of Portmeirion , who inherited
the Plas Brondanw estate, of sixteenth century origins, from his father in 1908.
The gardens at Plas Brondanw are the finest example of Sir Clough’s talent for creative landscape design.
Plas Brondanw House and Gardens are open.
