An large impressive stone on the southern slope of Pen Llithrig Y Wrach overlooks Llyn Cowlyd reservoir on the south-eastern edge of the
Carneddau range of mountains. Llyn Cowlyd is the deepest ice-carved lake in Northern Wales.
At its maximum depth the waters are some 70m deep.
A boggy FP, off the A5, west of Capel Curig reaches the Llugwy Leat some 250m above the A5.
Continue North and the stone will eventually be seen on the right.
The 3km long Llugwy Leat is an impressive channel transferring water from the Afon Llugwy to Llyn Cowlyd.
