Moel Hebog Trig Pillar

This "trig point" is a distinctive, weather-beaten structure on the mountain's highest point.
To the left - a dry stone wall leads down from the trig point.
The triangulation of Great Britain began on the 18 April 1936 , with usually a white concrete pillar, 6,500+ trig pillars were built.
The pillar provide a solid base for the surveyors theodolites.
