A view past the Dark shale rocks and cliffs at the back of Druidston Beach .
The dark Ordovician Shales have been contorted by complex folds and faults
and lifted above the Millstone Grit / Coal Measure rocks .
These Rocks in Druidston Bay show the only well exposed Ordovician Rocks
that show the effects of the Caledonian (400MYA) & Variscan (290MYA) ,
Mountain Building Periods (Orogeny).
