A Memorial Stone to the French invasion force which landed in the bay
near this vantage point on the 22nd Feb 1797.
Lord Cawdor of Stackpole Court ( John Campbell ) leading his Pembrokeshire Yeomanary
took the surrender of the French troops on Goodwick Sands on the 24th Feb 1797.
The message on the monument is in Welsh and English -
