Anticline / Syncline
Dramatic folds in the rocky shoreline to the west of the main sandy beach at Poppit Sands.
The rocks at the back of the sands to the
west , are mainly Sandstones , Siltstones and Mudstones , with good examples of Turbidites.
The sedimentary rocks were dramatically deformed during the
Caledonian Orogeny (RIGS 446).
