Tall Hairless Biennial / Dark green leaves / Flowers Yellow , few or no bracts /
An early flowering umbellifer / hedge banks , road side verges near the coast .
Introduced by the Romans / Alexanders was once grown in kitchen gardens as
"Alexandrian Parsley "/ a pot herb, to feed both humans and horses .
Culinary Use :-
Cut and steam the stems and buds, ideally just before the flowers have opened,
for a distinctive , peculiar vegetable, a little like celery.
