The Mayors Slip , a ramp which enters the harbour , dates from the C19.
A benefaction of a former Mayor, C.J.Williams.
The path from the Slip, leading to Crackwell Street, is known as "Mortuary Steps",
as the towns mortuary was in an Arch nearby.
