Edible Crab
"Cancer Pagurus".
A Crab with an Oval Reddish - brown Carapace with a piecrust margin and massive black
tipped pincers , it is a nocturnal predator, targeting a range of molluscs and crustaceans.
Found on bedrock including under boulders, mixed coarse grounds,
and offshore in muddy sand to about 100 m.
A mature adult may have a carapace width of up to 25 cm (10 in)
and weigh up to 3 kg (6.6 lb).
