Gower Heritage Coast
On the beach at Broughton Bay , a submerged forest , drowned about
6,000 years old , makes an appearance .
As the 'Ice Age' came to an end rising sea levels , flooded low coastal areas covering
forests in the process.
Tree stumps , fallen trees , roots , etc... exposures of peat and clay can be seen here.
