The Ffestiniog Railway (narrow gauge) operates between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog - a distance of 13.5 miles.
The Welsh Highland Railway (narrow gauge) operates between Porthmadog and Caernarfon - 25 miles.
At Harbour Station there is a platform between the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog lines so that passengers may transfer
from one train to the other. There are also the usual facilities including a respectable eating house.
