Also known as Ynysypandy and Nant y Pandy, was built to process Slate from the unsuccessful and short-lived Gorseddau Quarry in 1856/7.
Pont y Pandy is an impressive three-storeyed building , resembling a ruined abbey .
The mill had a 26ft water wheel and specialised in the production of Slate Slabs rather than Roofing Slates
A tramway was built from the Quarry to the Mill and then down to Porthmadog.
The business closed in 1871 , due to the poor quality of the Slate it was quarrying.
