Traeth Mawr an area of marsh , wet grassland ,woodland and scrub.

The Cob is an embankment built across the Glaslyn estuary , an area of marshland , in 1808 /11
to reclaim land for farming . The Afon Glaslyn now runs along the back of the embankment
to tidal sluice gates which allow the Glaslyn Marshes / Traeth Mawr to drain with the tides.
