The Coast Path joins the A497 and passes the eastern and western Tollhouses.
Top Pic - A view of the eastern tollhouse (1836) from the steps leading to Boston lodge Works.
The last 5p toll was collected in March 2003.
One of the Tollhouse gate posts is to the right of the door.

Lower Pic - The Cobs original Tollhouse (1811) , later adapted as the office for the Parc and Croesor Quarries
Company , when it was Clad in Slate with unique interlocking ridge tiles -
devised by the Quarries manager Moses Kellow .
By the side of the house is a FP leading to the summit of a small wooded rocky knoll - Ynys Tywyn .
