Baron Hill Maen Hir / Standing Stone - 1

A prehistoric standing stone , most likely Late Neolithic /Early Bronze Age ,
2.6m high, 1.5m wide and 0.25-0.3m thick.
In 2010 , after falling over , it was lifted and re-set in position , 0.7m of the 4.6 ton Stone was below ground .
The stone was held in position with 20 packing stones, one of which had a cup mark and a cup and ring mark.

Directions :- Park Llanfechell (off the A5025 south of Cemaes and Tregele)
The FP north of the Church , leads to the Stone in the middle of a field.
