Looking along the shingle beach to Trwyn Du Lighthouse and Puffin Island
with the Great Orme in the distance.
The Red beacon on Perch Rock marks a rocky outcrop between Penmon Point and Puffin Island .
Home to Gulls and Seals a huge colony of Cormorants -
seasonal visitors - Guillemots , Razorbills , Kittiwakes
and around 50 pairs of puffins during the breeding season between April and July .
Since the eradication of the brown rats on the island , the number of puffins has increased slowly.
Boat trips around the Island run from Beaumaris Pier .
