A more realistic name is the Welsh - Meini Hirion (“long stones”).
The name ‘Druid’s Circle’ is from the 19th century, due to the popularity of Druidic Folklore.
An embanked stone circle, 35m in diameter, and one of the finest stone circles in Wales.
Excavations in the 1950s revealed the cremated remains of children,
stored in Urns of a type which fell out of use by 1400BC.
