Back on the Marine Drive .
At the northern end of the Great Orme is the Lighthouse , now no longer in use.
Below Marine drive a square castellated two-storey building
on the Limestone cliffs of Great Orme Head, 99 metres (325 feet) above sea level.
The lantern light was at ground level at 325 feet above high water, the highest
on the coast of Wales , with the signal and telegraph room above.
The Lighthouse was built in 1862 by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company.
It was in use as a Lighthouse until 1985 and is now a guesthouse.
